About Me
Jean Becker LPC, CCC, CAS-II
Me as a Human - I am a mother of 2 children, 2 step children and 2 grandchildren (hopefully more!). I enjoy living a healthy lifestyle that includes outdoor activities (biking, golf, running, & swimming). I strongly believe in supporting opportunities for small business and self-employment. Through my work, I hope to foster encouragement that leads to higher self-esteem, stronger relationships, and healthy communities.

M.A - Applied Psychology and Counselor Education - University of Northern Colorado
B.A. - Applied Sociology Childhood & Youth / Legal Studies
Licensed Professional Counselor - LPC
I earned my LPC from the State of Colorado after completing an Internship at Excelsior Youth Center a residential treatment center for adolescent females in Aurora. I also completed 2000 supervised clinical hours of practice in combination at Griffith Centers for Children, Eagle County Department of Human Services, and Advocates for Victims of Assault.
Certified Addiction Specialist - CAS-II
I completed additional training through Noeticus for Addiction treatment and Clinical Supervision, using Motivational Interviewing techniques. I completed 2000 supervised clinical hours under supervision through Employee Assistance Programs in Summit County, providing counseling for employees of the Breckenridge Ski Area.
Education - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
I completed additional coursework for the treatment of Anxiety (OCD, Panic, Phobia, Social Anxiety) & Depression through the Beck Institute. Currently, I am working on my Certification of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Certification - Career Counseling
I earned my Certification in Career Counseling (CCC) after completing an extensive class offered by the National Career Development Association followed by rigerous testing and publication in the NCDA Journal.
Other Experience
- Advocates for Victims of Assault - Responded to domestic violence and death incidents in Summit County 2006 - 2015. Also, provided training for the volunteer staff.
- CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children - Trained & managed the volunteers. Represented children who were involved in the court system because of child abuse and neglect.
- Colorado Courts - Child & Family Investigations - Investigated and presented cases in Family Court.
- Effective Coparenting -Contracted to provide coparenting education for parents experiencing divorce.
- Excelsior Youth Center - Provided counseling for adolescent females who were in residential treatment because of child abuse, gang affiliation, legal issues, mental illness, trauma, sexual abuse, and traumatic brain injury.
- Griffith Centers for Children - Provided in home care for families who were involved with the Department of Human Services.
Volunteerism: Job Corps, Advocates, CASA, Dillon Community Church, Summit County Animal Shelter, Good Will, and Partners.
